Series Summary

Desperate to save his kingdom from falling into the sea as Pangea splits, the king of the Delnor people begs the Maker for divine intervention. The Maker creates Evynlore—a new world to transport the king, his lands, and his people to—on one condition: the Delnor must abandon the Morrs (demons) they worship and their magic, pledging loyalty to the Maker alone. The king agrees, and Evynlore is born.

For a time, it is paradise. But within a generation, the eldest prince, craving his lost magic, seeks out the Morrs. In pursuit of power, he spills his own blood to open portals, reconnecting Evynlore to Earth and inviting the Morrs in. This fatal act causes an imbalance between the worlds, setting up for a future convergence of the two dimensions unless the portals are sealed and the Morrs destroyed, as it is their magic that threatens to merge the worlds back into one. As destruction looms, characters are caught between divine providence and free will, navigating magic, cults, faith, and a divine power called dunamis to save the land and people they love. Follow their journey as they discover the spiritual forces of good and evil that influence the physical world and the soul's eternal destiny—and a place known as the Planes Between the Worlds.

Unravel the answers:
Are their destinies sealed by their ancestors' transgression?
Can the Delnor defeat the Morrs and destroy the portals? Is it possible when the deciding factor is giving up one's own power?
Will the Maker still help them even though the covenant has been broken?

Book One

The Unknown Past

“The First Scroll | Earth, Evynlore and the Planes Between the Worlds.”

Ella’s family is a mystery, except for her mother, who refuses to divulge any information about their relatives. Lonely while living in one of the largest cities on Earth, Ella creates a found family with two brothers. When the older friend is called by God to go to war and goes missing, Ella blames both war and God for her pain, vowing to forever be a pacifist and misotheist. Haunted by nightmares of a foreign world, as well as the lands described in her friend’s letters from the war, she begins to suspect a connection between the war he fought in and the world she sees in her dreams.

On the eve of her eighteenth birthday, a magical portal transports Ella to Evynlore, the world she’s seen in her dreams. There, she learns she was right: after fighting in a war on Earth her friend continued on to the war in Evynlore, for both wars wage against the same enemies—demons called Morrs. The last known information about her friend was that he went to defeat the tyrannical sorcerer named Dèmarrëus, who is possessed by the most evil Morr of them all. Although no one knows for sure what happened to her friend, they know his heroic attempt was futile, for the prophecy declares that only an heir with ancestral blood can kill Dèmarrëus. Meanwhile, wraiths still plague the lands, their existence sustained solely by Demarreus’s magic, which proves he still lives behind the walls of his fortress.

With no way back to Earth, Ella's life is now tied to Evynlore’s fate as Dèmarrëus launches a war to annihilate all mortals. She must now decide whether to follow the prophecy and accept war as a necessary evil for peace, or to hold steadfast to her pacifist beliefs with death looming on the horizon. With uncertainty about what will become of her soul after death, she realizes the answers she seeks lie with the one being she despises most. As the most inwardly conflicted person tasked with saving the world, will she choose to do it? Can she pay for the cost of her soul in the afterlife if she chooses to die for her grudge against God?

Embark on this journey as Ella uncovers the truth.

Why did her friend take on an impossible mission?

Why is her ancestral blood tied to the prophecy?

And most importantly, after the last spell is cast and the final prayer uttered, will Ella find the peace she desperately seeks for her soul?
