You find yourself in a very foreign landscape. You recognize the structures around you to be man-made and buildings of sorts but they look nothing like what you’re accustom to. You see bright colors of images on the building’s outer walls. As you look you realize they are words and strangely you can read them. You know the portal supernaturally translates all languages of this foreign world into a language you know. Still, none of the jargon makes much sense to you until you see a plaque on a noisy gray box. You read the engraved words ‘Property of the City of Los Angeles. Electrical Meter Box’. You have no clue where Los Angeles is located in this new world but now you know you’re in a city. You neither know what electrical means, but you understand a meter is a measure of something. It’s in this moment you realize how noisy this city is. The buzzing electrical box is nothing compared to the roar coming from behind the buildings. It’s as loud as thunder but constant like a waterfall. You assume it’s a snoring dragon, when in reality it’s the traffic of the freeway, still you play it safe and return to the Elysian Fields. This doesn’t seem like the reason the Maker called you. You return to the fields and go to check the river instead.
