You suddenly find yourself in a completely unfamiliar landscape. The structures around you appear to be man-made buildings, but they're nothing like what you're used to. The buildings have vibrant colors and images on their outer walls, which you soon realize are actually words. Strangely, you can read them, thanks to a supernatural translation effect of the portal.
However, the foreign jargon remains mostly perplexing until you come across a plaque on a noisy gray box. It reads, "Property of the City of Los Angeles. Electrical Meter Box." You have no idea where Los Angeles is in this new world, but at least you now know you're in a city. While you're clueless about what "electrical" means, you understand that a meter measures something.
In this moment, you also realize just how noisy this city is. The buzzing of the electrical box is nothing compared to the constant roar coming from behind the buildings. It's as loud as thunder but as constant as a waterfall. You mistakenly assume it's a snoring dragon, but in reality, it's the traffic on the freeway. Still, you decide to play it safe and quickly return to the Elysian Fields. After all, you have your own problems to deal with, and this new place doesn't seem much better than your home world.
