Emblems & Crests

Because Logos and Graphics are often clean and simple people assume they are quick and easy to make, but in truth a good logo can take longer than ten detailed drawings. So much thought is put into a logo, and every line has to count. A logo is like the first sentence of a book, if the words hook the reader they will keep reading. A logo must catch someones eyes, so they get interested to know what it stands for. A logo holds the feel, essence, and vibe of the book. Hopefully I have caught your eye with my logos for Evynlore.

Herald Achievement Evynlore’s Shield

The most detailed out of the logo, because it holds twelve logos within and Evynlore Latin motto.

The top ribbon reads Ne Vile Velis which is to say, "never have a bad thought." This is used as a greeting in Evynlore because when you meet someone you should always give them the chance to put their best foot forward, never think poorly of someone you have not personally met.

The base ribbon reads, ut luceant fiant luminariain firmamento which is to say, “that they may shine as luminaries in the firmament”, is on the Evynlore Shield because in Evynlore everyone has firmament light inside of them. It is a nebula cosmic ball of light which can be drawn out and combined with another’s light during a marriage ceremony. The combined lights go up into the heavens (aka the firmament) as a star. The Soul Stars are reminders, luminaries, of love, commitment, and sacrifice. They are there to remind us of our Maker, as marriage is the lived-out representation of how the Maker loves and cares for his followers. A beautiful representation when carried out successfully as followers of the Maker.

The Swans holding up the world, represent the Silver Swan Society, which is a secret society run by followers of the Maker, who keep the royals in check by influencing them indirectly to fairly rules their subjects. | The Crown represents that Evynlore is a world with royalty. | The Tree of Life is wrapped around the globe of Evynlore. Tree of Life | World Crest | Twisted around the Globe of Evynlore.

The Tree of Life has long been a symbol of longevity, wisdom and strength. Since Usher comes from Celtic heritage she felt it right to include these symbols in her logos of Evynlore. The tree serves a double purpose when place in the context of Evynlore, its curved nature reminds us of the Portals between our dimension and Evynlore. | The feeling the crest gives is that of the window the Maker looks through down upon Evynlore. | The continent of Evynlore is Pangea. | The Waves represent the world flood. | The leaves on the tree represent healing. | Yes, this Tree of Life is meant to be a Tharill Oak, the fictional tree in the books which leaves have super natural healing properties.
