This Alaskan lake inspired the creation of Havens Delving. S. R. Usher was seven years old seeing it.
Inspiration from God’s creation ignited Usher’s heart at a young age. She started drawing stories even before she knew how to write them. Usher’s stories started as her hobby, formed from the pure-clay of a child’s imagination.
Usher spent more time in the beauty of nature than most as a child. Her mother was a geologist & magazine writer for historical landmarks introducing Usher’s to unique places.
“You cannot reach the summit without having endured the painful climb up the mountain. For if a dragon drops you at the top, you will have forfeited the journey and therefore forfeited your reward.” ~Book One
The quote in book one was written in memory of Usher climbing Sheep Mountain in the White Mountains of California. She recalls as a child complaining about the whole climb but enjoying reaching the summit of 11,000 feet and signing her name in the U.S.G.P scroll canister of those who were victories to the top. She had said then she wished an airplane could just drop her at the top to meet her family. Today, she knows the claim as the most thrilling part, as she no longer recalls the pain in her foot the whole way up and instead the beauty she was blessed to see and the time spent with her family.
