AN UNKNOWN PAST | BOOK ONE

Ellastiléa’s mother won’t tell her if they have extended family or even where they came from. All Ellastiléa knows is she has dreamt every night of another world and when she fell from the window as a child she didn’t die but supernaturally healed. Her father abandoned them, or at least that’s what her mother says. Ellastiléa wants to know the truth about her father and her unknown past. 

Ellastiléa forms a self-made family with two best friends. Particularly Devin, who cares for Ellastiléa like she is his own little sister, but her little family shatters when Devin dies in a foreign war. Having lost the person who loved her most, Ellastiléa proclaims herself a pacifist and hater of the god whom Devin trusted in. Her dreams at night turn dark as she grows older, and she fears her nightmares are predicting her own premature death. If she dies hating Devin’s god can she still spend eternity with Devin?

When Devin’s ghost appears lost and disoriented, all her questions take an abrupt turn. She begins to question not if she will be with Devin when she dies, but if there even is a God, heaven or hell. As her nightmares increase and drive fear into her, she needs answers and fast! She wants to find Devin but she doesn’t want to float around lost and confused for eternity, like he seemed to be.

The day before her 18th birthday, Ellastiléa encounters an otherworldly assailant, a wraith from her night-terrors, a creature she knows has the power to drain someone’s blood with mist. A mysterious warrior, a handsome young man who she knows from her dreams, rescues her from the wraith but pulls her into Evynlore to do so. She discovers Evynlore is the world she has dreamt of since a child. There, many more secrets await her, and a much greater danger than wraiths; what awaits her, are the answers to her past and all her questions. She might not like the truth. 

She learns the picturesque lands of Evynlore are on the brink of war as wraiths amass an army for their master; a sorcerer mortal to only one with Shadden Delnor blood— her blood, she is told. She is the child prophesied to bring peace to Evynlore. It is she who must kill the sorcerer or the world and everyone in it will suffer a fate worse than death. It seems easier to Ellastiléa to pick up and escape back to Earth, but she discovers that’s not so easily done.

Nope. She is stuck in Evynlore and must kill to save herself and the world. At least there is one highlight, the warrior. He may not turn out to be the guy of her dreams, but he is certainly the guy from her dreams, if he will admit to it or not. Ellastiléa knows he recognizes her and is determined to get a confession out of him. She might get more of a confession than she bargains for.
